What is the TRUST Exam?
TRUST is a scholarship talent search exam run by the Directorate of Government Examinations. It has been held every year since 1991-1992 for Class 9 students in rural areas of Tamil Nadu. It identifies talented rural students and supports their studies with a scholarship.

Scholarship Details
- Each educational district selects 50 boys and 50 girls.
- Selected students receive ₹1,000 per year for four years.
Who Can Apply?
Students can apply if they are:
- Studying in Class 9 in the 2026-27 academic year
- Enrolled in a government-recognised school
- Studying in a school located in a village panchayat or township area of Tamil Nadu, excluding Chennai
How to Apply
- Contact your school headmaster or class teacher. Applications are submitted through the school.
- Pay the exam fee of ₹10 at school.
- Make sure your school completes the application between 7 October and 13 October 2026.

- Don’t wait. You have only six days, so speak to your school now.
- Ask your teacher about the syllabus and previous years’ question papers.
- Start preparing early. The exam is on 21 November, about six weeks away.
