Special TNTET results, held up since July by a Madras High Court interim stay, are still awaited by government and private school teachers across Tamil Nadu. Some teacher groups expect the Teachers Recruitment Board (TRB) to release them within days, but there is no official confirmation.
The Special TET for in-service teachers was conducted in July, with teachers from elementary and higher secondary levels appearing for Paper I and Paper II. The stay is not due to any delay at the TRB’s end. Sources say the final answer key is prepared and all OMR sheets have been evaluated, so the results can be published as soon as the court allows.
The court is still hearing the plea to reduce TET qualifying marks for working teachers. Hearings on the grace mark, OC mark and equal mark cases are set for 7 October 2026. Transfer and promotion cases are listed for 14 October 2026, and the stay on transfer counselling continues.

How to Check Special TNTET Results 2026 Online
Once TRB gets the go-ahead to release the results, candidates will be able to check them directly on the official website:
- Visit the official TRB website: trb.tn.gov.in
- Look for the Special TNTET Results 2026 link under the “What’s New” or “Announcements” section on the homepage.
- Click the result link and log in using your Registration Number/ User ID and Date of Birth or Password.
- Your result – including qualifying status and marks for Paper I/ Paper II – will appear on screen.
- Download and save the result PDF, and keep a printout for your records.
- Candidates who qualify can also download their TET eligibility certificate from the same login window once results are confirmed.
Keep your registration details (Registration ID, Date of Birth, Application Number) handy in advance, since the TRB server tends to see heavy traffic right after a result announcement.
