  • Parts B and C are in Tamil and English. Part A is in Tamil only.
  • Total marks across A, B and C decide your rank.
  • Differently abled candidates who studied only in English can opt for General English instead of Tamil.
  • Leaving an answer unmarked on the OMR sheet can cost 0.5 mark, and a wrongly written register number can cost 2 marks. Read Annexure IV before exam day.

Preparation Tips

  • Start with Tamil. Part A is half the marks, and the 60-mark cut-off decides whether the rest of your paper gets checked.
  • Weight your time by questions. Economy and Tamil Nadu history/culture together carry 40 of the 75 General Studies questions.
  • Practise aptitude daily. It is only 25 questions, and the topics are standard school-level maths.
  • Plan backwards from 10 January. You have roughly 13 weeks, so schedule weekly mock tests from the second month.

Exam Day Rules

  • Reach the venue one hour before the exam. Gates close 30 minutes before the start, so be inside by 9:00 AM.
  • Mobile phones, smart watches, smart glasses, notes and wallets are banned. The Commission can’t guarantee safekeeping.
