UPDATE: 2 Jan 2023
- Fare reduction from ₹20 to ₹35 on buses going to southern districts from the new bus terminus at Kilambakkam, Chennai.
- As the new terminal from Koyambedu to Kilambakkam is 32 km away, the fare has been reduced accordingly.
Govt express buses from Coimbatore to Trichy charge a maximum of ₹460, while the maximum fare for the same bus from Kilambakkam is set at ₹430.

Bus Operations Transition to Kilambakkam
The bus operations will shift from the Chennai Mofussil Bus Terminus at Koyambedu to the New Kalaignar Centenary Bus Terminus at Kilambakkam for the south bound buses of SETC, TNSTC, PRTC, and Private Operators (Omni).
The operations of SETC and privately owned omni buses will begin with immediate effect, while the TNSTC and PRTC will subsequently follow and will be informed later.
To facilitate passenger movement during peak hours from various stops within Chennai to the Terminus and vice-versa, shuttle services will be operated at regular intervals by MTC as per the tables. Buses at varied frequencies will be operated on other routes at adequate intervals.
